Vicini Pastaria (1916 Park Ave in Lafayette Square, St. Louis) $55/class or $405 for entire 9 class series (registration is transferrable) Every other Wednesday, 6-8:30pm, Jan 24th-May 15th In-depth 9 week course beginning with an Intro to Italian wine study & classification in week 1, followed by 8 regional classes each exploring the wines and a signature dish from that region of Italy. Each class in the 9 class course includes: • In-depth wine education and tasting led by certified sommelier, Meredith Sutch, CSW of Tavolo Vigneto imports • Brief demonstration-style cooking class (led by executive chef, Dawn Wilson) of an Italian dish specific to that week's featured region. Taste portions of the finished dish will be provided. • Antipasti to snack on throughout class • All recipes & handouts • All students will receive a 10% discount off all purchases the evening of the class (excluding beverages to be consumed on-site). • Students registered for the entire 9 class course will receive a 10% discount off all RETAIL wine purchases from Jan 24th-May 15th (applicable to retail wine purchases only; excludes wine to be consumed on-site). On Saturday, November 18th at 4:00 PM, you are invited to attend a potluck dinner with all of your Italian and Italian culture affiliated friends in St Louis. The address is: 8195 Lackland Rd. The organizers of the event will be providing turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and a keg of beer to share. Adults are requested to bring a dish to feed approximately 6 to 8 people. Il Prof. Nicola Aravecchia, professore di archeologia a Washington University in St Louis, lavora da anni nel campo e ora dirige gli scavi in un'oasi egiziana. Ha viaggiato il mondo a studiare e insegnare. Gli scavi ad Amheida (nel deserto occidentale egiziano) sono iniziati nel 2001. Il Professor Aravecchia è il co-autore del libro "An Oasis City," che parla di questa città antica che raggiunse il suo apice durante il periodo romano, prima di essere abbandonata tra la fine del quarto e l'inizio del quinto secolo D.C. Ad Amheida, il professore e i suoi colleghi hanno identificato uno dei primi complessi funerari cristiani, datato alla meta' del quarto secolo.
