Italian Community Welcomes Consul General Giuseppe Finocchiaro to St Louis

The Italian Community of St Louis, including members of Club Italiano Per Piacere, and the St Louis - Bologna Sister Cities Organization, welcomed Consul General Giuseppe Finocchiaro to St Louis on June 7, 2018 at the parish hall of St Ambrose Catholic Church. The Honorary Vice-Consul of Italy in St Louis, Joseph Colagiovanni, members of the World Trade Center - St Louis and CTIM Tricolore were also in attendance. The Consul General expressed his particular interest and support of the St Louis - Bologna Sister Cities organization which was officially re-founded in October 2017 under the jurisdiction of the World Trade Center - St Louis.

​The Hon. Finocchiaro also voiced his continued support for all that Cav. Franco Giannotti had accomplished, in particular, his founding of the Midwest's only exclusively Italian speaking club, Italiano Per Piacere, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year. Also mentioned by the consul were words of support for the Italian classes for children most recently initiated by Ms. Giovanna Leopardi, a professor of Italian for over 20 years. Hon. Finocchiaro is stationed at the Consulate of Italy in Chicago and serves as the consul for the St Louis metropolitan area.
